The Delaware Safety Council is hosting a Basic Boating Safety Course provided by the Wilmington Power Squadron.
This is an introductory course where students learn boating safety, "rules of the road", charting, and other valuable information necessary to safely enjoying pleasure boating. This course is required for children under 16 in order to operate a personal watercraft (PWC).
The Boating Certification Course is only the introduction to the wealth of information available to members of WSPS.
This course teaches the basics of boating safety in four two-hour sessions ending in a certification exam for states MD, DE, PA, and NJ during the last session.

You must attend all three sessions to be eligible to receive your certification. Refunds will not be issued for missed sessions.

Provides students who are in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support training with techniques for administering adult and pediatric CPR/AED life-support as well as information about appropriate response procedures in various emergency situations.
Upon completion of the course, each student will receive an American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR Certification Card valid for 2 years. This course meets OSHA standards.

Designed for the occupational first aid provider and can help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies involving children and infants, as well as adults.

This comprehensive classroom training is designed for forklift operators. It addresses pre-start safety inspection, lift truck design considerations and safety procedures for picking up, moving with, and setting down a load. Students will learn practical techniques to help prevent costly and tragic lift truck collisions. OSHA requires that forklift operators regularly receive safety training.
*This course is the classroom portion of the Forklift Operator Safety Training only. This is NOT a hands on training course. A certificate will be given signed off by our instructor that verifies you now receive hands on training on a forklift from a current or prospective employer.*

This ATSSA Flagger Certification Course is required for personnel that are involved with traffic control safety in highway work zones. It meets all flagger training qualifications for Delaware, in addition to surrounding states such as PA and NJ. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. Certification is valid for 4 years.
An essential course for pet owners, interactive certification course will give students up-to-date, medically accurate information as well as instruction on the proper sequence of actions to take in various first aid emergencies regarding your dog or cat.
Class fee includes: DSC Pet First Aid Student handbook to take home, first aid supplies to be used in the classroom, and life-sized pet manikins to practice new skills on while in classroom.
A portion of all proceeds from this class will go to support the Faithful Friends Animal Society, a local no-kill shelter in Wilmington. Learn and engage with life saving information for your furry friend while supporting animals in need of care and a home.

Provides students with techniques for administering adult CPR/AED life-support as well as information about appropriate response procedures in various emergency situations. Provides young adults with basic skills training and information necessary for the proper care of infants and children. Topics include emergency action steps, personal safety, fire safety, infant care, basic first aid and choking management. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. This course is certified by the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).
Please bring a bagged lunch and a baby doll to practice with to class.
